Egyptian Ministry of Petroleum: Fire breaks out on gasification and storage vessels at Damietta Port - Sarmad

The Egyptian Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources confirmed that, as part of its immediate monitoring of any emergency incidents, a fire broke out on the gasification vessel and the storage vessel located at the Port of Damietta. The situation was handled immediately in accordance with approved emergency and rapid response plans, through the relevant authorities and the site’s firefighting and security teams.

Upon receiving the report, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi proceeded to the incident site to monitor the situation on the ground, ensure the progress of containment and security operations, and verify that all safety procedures were implemented and that full coordination was maintained among all relevant parties until the situation was safely resolved.

The Ministry stressed that the incident resulted in no injuries or human casualties, and that emergency teams continued to work with the relevant technical authorities to complete operations and take necessary measures in accordance with approved standards.
