Egypt defeats Israel and wins world bronze in fencing - Sarmad

The Egyptian men’s sabre fencing team secured the bronze medal at the World Fencing Championships for men and women, held in Hong Kong from July 22 to 30.

Egypt claimed the bronze medal after defeating Israel 39-38.

Egypt began their campaign with a 44-33 victory over Portugal in the round of 32.

The “Pharaohs” then beat Spain 36-35 in the round of 16, and advanced to the semifinals with a 45-35 win over Russia.

They lost to Kazakhstan 41-32 in the semifinals, but clinched the bronze medal by defeating Israel 39-38.
