Kuwait: Continued attacks on Saudi Arabia constitute escalation and destabilization of the region's security and stability - Sarmad

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the State of Kuwait’s strong condemnation and denunciation of the continued attacks by Iran-backed militias in Iraq against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, reflecting those militias’ determination to escalate tensions and destabilize the security and stability of the region. The latest incident was the blatant aggression involving the launch of drones in a futile attempt to target oil facilities in the Eastern Province yesterday evening, constituting a blatant violation of the Kingdom’s sovereignty and a threat to its security and territorial integrity. This comes at a time when the Kingdom is making sincere efforts to contribute to de-escalation in the region.

In a statement issued today, Wednesday, the Ministry reaffirmed Kuwait’s absolute solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, its steadfast support for the Kingdom, and its backing of all measures taken to protect the Kingdom’s security, sovereignty, interests, and assets. This includes the Kingdom’s inherent right to self-defense, guaranteed under international law pursuant to Article 51 of the United Nations Charter. The Ministry emphasized that the security of the Kingdom is an integral part of the security of the State of Kuwait and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.
