Peru's Ambassador to Kuwait: Our relations with Kuwait are witnessing growing momentum in many fields - Sarmad

(KUNA) – The Ambassador of the Republic of Peru to Kuwait, Carlos Gil Fortol, affirmed that the bilateral relations between his country and the State of Kuwait are witnessing growing momentum in many vital areas, particularly economic ones.

This statement came during a speech he delivered at a celebration hosted by the embassy on Tuesday, marking the 205th anniversary of his country’s Independence Day, in the presence of Assistant Undersecretary of State for the Americas Affairs, Minister Plenipotentiary Abdulaziz Al-Qadfan, and several heads of diplomatic missions and international organizations in Kuwait.

Ambassador Fortol said that the Republic of Peru and the State of Kuwait celebrated last year the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, reflecting the strength of their friendship and cooperation ties and the shared desire to expand the horizons of bilateral partnership.

He pointed out that there are significant opportunities to enhance cooperation between the two countries in sectors such as infrastructure, food security, mining, renewable energy, logistics, tourism, education, healthcare, and digital technologies, emphasizing his country’s welcome of Kuwaiti investors as partners in the journey toward sustainable development.

He also confirmed the readiness of Peruvian exporters to expand their presence in the Kuwaiti market by offering products characterized by quality, sustainability, and innovation, including agricultural products, coffee, fishery products, textiles, clothing, and processed foods, thereby contributing to building long-term commercial partnerships that yield mutual benefits for both countries.

Ambassador Fortol noted that his country is working to consolidate its position as one of the most dynamic economies in Latin America, calling on Kuwaiti investors to take advantage of the promising investment opportunities available across various vital sectors.

He added that his country has succeeded, over more than two centuries, in building an economy characterized by financial stability, responsible economic policies, openness to trade and investment, and an attractive investment environment based on a modern legal framework and a wide network of free trade agreements.

He stated that economic diplomacy is not limited to trade and investment alone, but also aims to build bridges of trust, enhance communication, exchange knowledge, and establish sustainable partnerships among peoples, expressing his hope that the event will open new horizons for economic and commercial cooperation between Peru and Kuwait.
