Spanish Prime Minister Responds to Palestinian Girl with an Emotional Message - Sarmad

Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez sent a heartfelt message to the children of Gaza and their families, affirming that the Spanish people stand with them and will not abandon them.

This came in response to a message from a Palestinian girl, after she posted a video clip calling for a painting she had made for him to be delivered through the ruins of the Gaza Strip.

The Palestinian girl, Layan, appeared in a video clip with a portrait of Sánchez visible among the rubble behind her. She delivered a short message, saying, “Hello Spain, I am Layan from Gaza. Today, we came to draw a picture of the Prime Minister of Spain, and I hope this picture reaches the Prime Minister of Spain and the Spanish people.”

Sánchez posted a video on his Instagram account, expressing his gratitude for the initiative. He said, “Thank you, Layan, and the artists, for this beautiful gesture, as well as to all the Palestinian people, who have consistently shown feelings of love and affection toward Spain. Amid all this pain, you found a moment to send us your love.”

Addressing Layan and the children of Gaza, he added, “I would like to say to Layan and to all the children of Gaza and their families that the entire Spanish society hears you, sees you, loves you, and will not forget you. I hope that soon the day will come when children in Gaza can return to drawing without fear in schools, and live their future in peace.”
