Omani Foreign Minister Discusses with His Counterparts in Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Egypt, and Iran Efforts to De-escalate Tensions - Sarmad

(Omani) – Omani Foreign Minister Badr Al Busaidi held telephone conversations with several of his regional counterparts to discuss developments in the situation and efforts aimed at de-escalating tensions.

The calls included Sheikh Jaraah Jaber Al Ahmed, Kuwait’s Minister of Foreign Affairs; Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs; Prince Faisal bin Farhan, Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs; Dr. Badr Abdel Ati, Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Head of the Egyptian Expatriates Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; and Dr. Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Iran’s Minister of Foreign Affairs.

The discussions focused on ways to enhance the prospects of reaching practical, fair, and sustainable understandings regarding navigation freedom and the flow of supply chains through political and diplomatic solutions, serving the collective interests of the region’s states and all parties benefiting from navigation through the Strait of Hormuz.

The Omani Foreign Minister and his counterparts also emphasized the importance of navigation and its safety, the resumption of the flow of trade and supply chains linked to the regional and global economies, and the continuation of coordination and consultation to support the security and stability of the region.
