Kuwait University Welcomes 100 Students Under the “Generation of Science” Program - Sarmad

(KUNA) – Kuwait University, represented by the College of Science and the College of Engineering and Petroleum in the Sabah Al-Salem University City, hosted approximately 100 high school students as part of the 2026 summer “Generation of Science” program, organized by the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS).

In a press statement on Sunday, the university explained that the summer program aims to introduce high school students to scientific and research fields, providing them with the opportunity to meet a select group of researchers and academics. This initiative seeks to broaden their scientific horizons, help them explore various disciplines, and assist them in planning their academic and professional futures.

The program included tours of several scientific departments within the College of Science and the College of Engineering and Petroleum. Students visited the Inorganic and Analytical Chemistry Group in the Department of Chemistry at the College of Science, under the supervision of Dr. Intesar Al-Hutlani. They also learned about the Molecular Biology program in the Department of Biological Sciences, under the supervision of Dr. Nasma Bastaki.

Furthermore, students at the College of Engineering and Petroleum participated in scientific workshops in the Department of Electrical Engineering, presented by Dr. Muhammad Baidas, and in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, presented by Dr. Abdulaziz Shamsah. These sessions enabled them to gain close exposure to various scientific and engineering fields and applications.

The visit is part of the joint cooperation between Kuwait University and the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences, strengthening the partnership between the two institutions and supporting the country’s scientific progress by preparing student cadres and enriching their academic knowledge across various fields of science and innovation.
