(KUNA) – A medical team at Al Adan Hospital, under the Ministry of Health, successfully treated a Kuwaiti woman in her forties on Sunday for a severe blockage of the bile ducts caused by a rare congenital anatomical anomaly. This achievement represents a qualitative medical milestone, reflecting the continuous advancement of specialized, high-precision services within the Ministry.

In a press release, the Ministry of Health stated that the surgical team was led by Dr. Yousef Al-Tawalla, a Senior Specialist in Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Advanced Therapeutic Endoscopy, and included Dr. Mehdi Abbas from Interventional Radiology and several other specialists.

The release clarified that the intervention resulted in successful treatment, with the patient making a full recovery. Her liver functions and enzymes returned to normal levels, and she was discharged from the hospital in good health. The ministry emphasized that this success reflects the advanced level achieved by national cadres in the field of advanced therapeutic endoscopy, and underscores Al Adan Hospital’s capacity to manage complex and rare specialized cases in accordance with the latest medical practices.
