General Fire Force Launches "Safe Summer" Awareness Campaign at Al Khiran Mall - Sarmad
(KUNA) – The General Fireforce launched its summer awareness campaign today, Friday, under the slogan “A Safe Summer with the Fire Department,” at The Avenues Mall, aiming to raise awareness about the risks and causes of fires and drowning incidents, which increase during the summer season, and to enhance community safety.
Spokesperson for the Force, Brigadier General Mohammed Al-Gharib, said the campaign will organize a variety of programs throughout the summer, including exhibitions, lectures, maritime tours, and visits to commercial complexes, government entities, and private institutions to provide guidance on safety requirements, fire and accident prevention measures, and proper procedures for handling emergencies.
Brigadier General Al-Gharib clarified that the campaign is part of the Fire Department’s commitment to raising the level of preventive awareness among community members, thereby contributing to the protection of lives and property and reducing the occurrence of accidents.
He noted that the campaign will also focus on raising awareness about the importance of adhering to safety procedures at recreational and maritime sites and in homes, highlighting the main causes of fires and accidents and ways to avoid them, as well as disseminating preventive guidelines to enhance community readiness.
He called on community members to engage with the campaign’s activities, benefit from its awareness programs, and comply with safety guidelines and instructions, emphasizing their important role in mitigating risks and safeguarding lives and property during the summer season.
In this context, Brigadier General Al-Gharib stated that the total number of reports handled by Fire Department teams across various governorates from January 1 to March 31, 2026, amounted to 3,633 reports, including fires, rescue operations, other accidents, and general services. These included 750 fire incidents between residential and non-residential locations and transportation vehicles across the country’s various governorates.
