Iraq: No Truth to Report of US Proposal to Iran for Ceasefire - Sarmad

The Iraqi Prime Minister’s Office denied on Friday a newspaper report claiming that Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Allawi had conveyed an American proposal to Iran to halt the ceasefire.
In a statement, the Iraqi Prime Minister’s Office media office said, “The allegations contained in the report published yesterday by The New York Times are baseless and have no connection to reality.”
The office called for “accuracy and reliance on official sources, and refraining from circulating unverified information or attributing it to unknown sources.”
The New York Times had previously reported that Iran had rejected an American proposal for a temporary ceasefire, which al-Allawi had conveyed during his official visit to Tehran yesterday.
