Marzouq Al-Ghanim: Iran's blatant attacks on the Gulf serve the Zionist project - Sarmad

Former Speaker of the National Assembly Marzouq Al-Ghanim affirmed that Iran’s blatant and repeated attacks on vital facilities in Kuwait and Gulf countries confirm a series of undeniable facts. Iran has targeted peaceful Muslim nations and peoples, in clear violation of the principles of good neighborliness and in stark contradiction to Islamic values that call for the preservation of life, protection of rights, and respect for neighbors.
In a statement published on his X (formerly Twitter) page, Al-Ghanim said: “Iranian attacks have targeted electricity generation stations, water desalination plants, fuel storage facilities, and other civilian infrastructure. These facilities represent the lifeline for millions of citizens, making innocent civilians the first to pay the price for this escalation, in explicit defiance of all humanitarian norms and international law.”
He added: “Iran raised the slogan ‘an eye for an eye,’ only to leave the American and Israeli eyes untouched. What has unfolded on the ground has turned this slogan into ‘an eye on the Muslim neighbor.’ Kuwait and Gulf countries, along with their peoples, have paid a heavy price in terms of security and vital infrastructure. This political paradox reveals the extent of the contradiction between rhetoric and practice, raising legitimate questions about the true nature and priorities of this approach.”
Al-Ghanim continued: “The attacks were not limited to vital facilities; their effects extended to disrupting civilian services, threatening air navigation, and spreading fear among the population. This confirms that the true victims of this approach are innocent civilians, not the parties that Iran claims it is confronting.”
He stated: “Despite these attacks, the Kuwaiti and Gulf peoples have proven that they distinguish between the policies of regimes and the innocence of populations. They provided an exemplary model of morality and humanity when they participated in the funeral of the innocent Iranian girl who was killed by an Iranian missile, standing by her family in their grief. This affirmed that values of mercy and humanity do not disappear even during war, and that political differences with states cannot turn into hostility toward innocents.”
He emphasized that the practical outcome of these attacks is not only the destruction of infrastructure, the depletion of Gulf countries’ economic resources, and the delay of development projects, but also the exhaustion of regional states and their diversion from building and development to reconstruction. This serves anyone seeking to weaken regional stability and slow its progress.
According to the statement, one of the undeniable facts is that the practical result of Iranian attacks has achieved what the Zionist movement has sought for decades: draining the capabilities of Gulf states, destroying parts of their infrastructure, and diverting billions of dollars from development and prosperity projects to reconstruction and enhanced security measures. Whether intentional or not, the final outcome ultimately benefits the Zionist project, which seeks to exhaust the region and slow its progress.
Al-Ghanim noted that the indisputable truth is that the greatest beneficiary of this scenario is war criminal and child killer Benjamin Netanyahu and those who follow his path. Everything that leads to the exhaustion of regional states, the disruption of their development, and the deepening of instability ultimately serves his project, regardless of what others may claim.
He concluded his statement: “By God’s will, the Gulf will remain resistant to projects of chaos. Its peoples will remain wiser than to be deceived by slogans, tougher than to be broken by attacks, and more faithful to their values than to abandon their humanity.”
