Trump: Nuclear deal with Saudi Arabia contingent on its joining the Abraham Accords - Sarmad

US President Donald Trump said on Thursday that approval of the civilian nuclear agreement being concluded between the US Department of Energy and Saudi Arabia is contingent on Riyadh joining the Abraham Accords.

In a post on Truth Social, he added that the program would not include any nuclear material enrichment, emphasizing that the United States “does not oppose civilian nuclear facilities that are not based on enrichment.”

He stated, “The program, which is limited solely to non-military uses, such as those already existing in Iran, the United Arab Emirates, and other countries, will be approved, but the approval is entirely contingent on Saudi Arabia joining the Abraham Accords, which are highly respected and have achieved success.”

Saudi Arabia and the United States announced on Wednesday the signing of a cooperation agreement in the field of peaceful uses of nuclear energy, aiming to strengthen bilateral cooperation in energy and advanced technologies between the two countries.
