Instagram allows editing music in old posts without losing engagement - Sarmad

Meta’s Instagram platform has launched a new feature that allows users to change the music accompanying their posts and photo carousels after publishing, without having to delete the content and re-upload it, while preserving previous engagement metrics.
The tech website The Verge reported that the new feature, called “Replace Audio,” enables users to swap out the music in older posts while keeping likes, comments, shares, and view counts intact, giving users and content creators greater flexibility in managing their posts.
Instagram clarified that the feature is part of its efforts to develop tools that help users control and edit their content after publishing. Previously, changing the music required deleting the entire post and re-publishing it, which resulted in the loss of accumulated engagement.
Users can take advantage of the feature by opening the desired post, selecting the Edit option from the menu, and tapping “Replace Audio” to choose a new music clip, while the post retains all its previous data.
The launch of this feature comes amid ongoing platform updates aimed at improving the user experience, following criticism of some previous features. Instagram is now focusing on practical tools that give users more control over their published content.
