His Highness the Prime Minister presides over and attends the National Honoring Ceremony for the Heroes of the National Teams - Sarmad

(KUNA) – Under the patronage and in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Prime Minister, the Ministry of State for Youth and Sports Affairs held today the National Honoring Ceremony for champions of the national teams, both male and female, for the 2023/2024 and 2024/2025 sports seasons, at the Jaber Al-Ahmad Cultural Centre.
His Highness the Prime Minister honored outstanding players and athletes from various Kuwaiti sports federations, committees, and clubs.
In a press statement after the ceremony, His Highness emphasized that the achievements of national team champions serve as a source of pride and reflect the determination and resolve demonstrated by Kuwaiti youth, who make exceptional efforts to represent their country and raise its name and flag at various international sporting events.
The Prime Minister stated that this recognition acknowledges the significant efforts exerted by players, athletes, and technical and administrative staff, which have yielded results and accomplishments that elevated Kuwait’s name at regional and international sporting arenas. He affirmed that the government places great importance on Kuwaiti sports and is committed to providing a supportive environment that enables athletes to continue excelling and achieving further successes.
He added that investing in young national talents constitutes a fundamental pillar for building a promising future for sports in Kuwait, expressing his pride and admiration for the accomplishments of Kuwaitis in securing these prestigious positions.
In his speech, Minister of State for Youth and Sports Affairs Dr. Tariq Hamad Al-Jalahma emphasized that honoring our athletes today is a recognition of their efforts, dedication, and a message of pride in the achievements we all celebrate. He reaffirmed the commitment to continue supporting athletes and providing an appropriate environment that enables them to develop their capabilities and realize their aspirations, thereby enhancing Kuwait’s standing on the sporting stage.
Also speaking, Acting Director General of the Public Authority for Youth and Sports, Bishr Abdullah Al-Salem, noted that honoring players today is not merely a celebration but a message of gratitude, appreciation, and pride to all athletes across various sports for their efforts and accomplishments, with the aim of raising the Kuwaiti flag at international events.
Attending the ceremony were Minister of State for Youth and Sports Affairs Dr. Tariq Hamad Al-Jalahma, Chairperson of Salwa Al-Sabah Sports Club Sheikh Naima Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Acting Director General of the Public Authority for Youth and Sports Bishr Abdullah Al-Salem, along with several presidents of sports federations and clubs, and senior officials from the Public Authority for Youth and Sports.
