With Green Light from Bernam.. Britain Opens Its Bases for US Strikes Against Iran - Sarmad

Bloomberg reported that the new British Prime Minister, Andy Burnham, approved the use of British bases for U.S. strikes on Iran.

In March, the former British Prime Minister, Keir Starmer, announced his country’s approval of a U.S. request to use British bases to launch defensive attacks against Iranian missiles targeting storage facilities or launch platforms.

Earlier, at the outset of the U.S.-Israeli war on Iran, Britain had refused to allow the use of Royal Air Force bases to carry out strikes on Iran.

Britain’s refusal led to a diplomatic rift between London and Washington.

The dispute prompted Trump to withdraw his support for the Chagos Islands deal, which Starmer had been pursuing to transfer the islands to Mauritius.

The British government considers the agreement with Mauritius, expected to cost UK taxpayers £35 billion, essential for security reasons and to avoid a costly legal battle over sovereignty of the islands.
