The Supreme Council of the Judiciary strongly condemns Iranian attacks on the country - Sarmad

(KUNA) — The Supreme Council of the Judiciary strongly condemned the reprehensible Iranian attacks on the country, affirming that the judicial authority, with all its members and assistants, stands firmly behind the wise leadership of His Highness the Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, may God protect and guard him, and His Highness the Crown Prince, Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, may God protect him.

This was stated in a statement issued by the Council following a meeting held today, Tuesday, chaired by the Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Judiciary and President of the Court of Cassation, Advisor Dr. Adel Bursali, with the attendance of Councilor members of the Council and the Deputy Minister of Justice.

The Council reaffirmed its support for the efforts of the prudent government, led by His Highness Sheikh Ahmed Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Prime Minister, and the mobilization of all capabilities to defend the gains and rights of the State of Kuwait. It prayed to Almighty God to protect the Armed Forces and the Kuwaiti defenders, to have mercy on the righteous martyrs, and to hasten the recovery of the injured and wounded.

The statement added that the Supreme Council of the Judiciary issued seven decisions, including the transfer of 14 counselors from the Court of Appeal to work at the Court of Cassation, effective October 1 of next year. It also included the reconstitution of a five-member committee of counselors to oversee the written tests and personal interviews for applicants seeking the position of Junior Legal Researcher.

The decisions also included opening the admissions window for appointments to the position of Junior Legal Researcher for both males and females, with a view to appointing them as Deputy Public Prosecutors (Grade C) for males and females who are graduates of the 2025-2026 academic year, effective November 1 until November 30 of the same year.

It was noted that the Council decided to transfer several Deputy Public Prosecutors to serve as judges at the Court of First Instance, effective October 1 of next year, upon their enrollment in a qualifying course at the Kuwait Institute for Judicial and Legal Studies in September of next year.

It was pointed out that several judges of the Court of First Instance and members of the Public Prosecution were promoted to the higher grade, effective July 5 of this year. Additionally, the secondment of some judges to work at the Court of Cassation Prosecution was renewed for one year, effective October 1 of next year.

The statement indicated that observations and complaints identified during the visit of court presidents to the Hawalli Courts Complex last Wednesday were presented during the meeting. The Supreme Council of the Judiciary decided to entrust the Deputy Minister of Justice with addressing these issues and complaints and making every possible effort to facilitate matters for citizens, lawyers, and litigants.
