Customs Foil Smuggling of 10 Kilograms of Marijuana - Sarmad

Officials from the General Administration of Customs, specifically within the Air Cargo Customs Department, thanks to God and through their vigilance and expertise in customs inspection and oversight, thwarted an attempt to smuggle approximately 10 kilograms of marijuana. The drugs were concealed within a shipment arriving from the Kingdom of Thailand, which was declared in its documentation as containing a table and lighting fixtures.

The seizure followed suspicions regarding the shipment, prompting a thorough customs inspection. The inspection revealed the narcotics hidden inside a box containing crates of lighting decorations. The drugs were professionally concealed beneath the crates in an attempt to disguise them and evade customs procedures.

Immediately, coordination was established with the General Administration for the Suppression of Narcotics and Alcohol. The suspect, an Indian national, was apprehended while collecting the shipment, and legal measures were taken against him.

The General Administration of Customs reaffirmed its commitment to intensifying inspection and oversight at all customs checkpoints, and to firmly combating attempts to smuggle prohibited substances, in order to safeguard the security and safety of society. Seizure reports are being prepared, and the suspect and confiscated items are being referred to the General Administration for the Suppression of Narcotics and Alcohol to complete the legal procedures.
