Israel spends $50 million to influence American public opinion - Sarmad

Israel spent $50 million to influence American public opinion after a poll showed that about 60% of Americans view Tel Aviv negatively due to the war in Gaza and Iran.

The Wall Street Journal reported in an article that Israel is using AI-generated texts and content that influences search algorithms, and is working with bloggers as part of a campaign to improve its negative image among Americans.

It added that some social media users are receiving messages from two fake women, Sarah and Emma, asking: “How do you think US-Israeli peace negotiations with Iran will affect global security?”

The newspaper noted that Israel will spend more than $700 million to improve its global image in 2026.

US Vice President JD Vance had previously touched on this issue, pointing out that specific individuals within the Israeli government are trying to manipulate public opinion in the United States to prolong the war with Iran indefinitely.

White House spokesperson Karoline Leavitt also confirmed that US President Donald Trump agrees with the view that Israel and other foreign countries are trying to influence the public opinion of American citizens.

Polls have revealed a sharp decline in Israel’s standing among the American public. A poll conducted by the Pew Research Center showed that 60% of Americans view Israel negatively, with the share of very negative opinions jumping to 28%, compared to 10% four years ago. Analyses indicate that this decline is particularly evident among younger generations, with 75% of Americans aged 18 to 29 holding a negative view of Israel.
