Minister of Social Affairs: Safety of Persons with Disabilities is a Top Priority - Sarmad

(KUNA) – Minister of Social Affairs, Family, and Childhood Affairs, Dr. Amthal Al-Huwaili, affirmed on Saturday that the safety of persons with disabilities is a top priority for the ministry, which is continuously monitoring with the Public Authority for Persons with Disabilities the conditions of all care homes to ensure their readiness and the continued efficient provision of services, alongside the ongoing review of emergency plans.
This statement came in a press remark made by Minister Al-Huwaili following an inspection visit to the Al-Sabahya Center for Care and Rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities, affiliated with the Public Authority for Persons with Disabilities, to ensure the safety of residents and staff and to verify the center’s readiness to handle any emergencies.
Minister Al-Huwaili stated that the tour is part of following up on the repercussions of recent security developments and closely monitoring the conditions of residents and the level of health and social care provided to them.
She added that she inspected various facilities at the center and reviewed the readiness of shelters, evacuation and emergency plans, and the preventive measures implemented to ensure the highest levels of protection and safety for everyone.
She noted the continuation of field visits and direct monitoring of all care homes and centers affiliated with the authority, along with continuous coordination with relevant authorities to ensure the uninterrupted provision of care and protection services to beneficiaries and to safeguard their well-being under all circumstances.
