(KUNA) – Fatima Jawhar Hayat, the official spokesperson for the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy, said on Saturday that the commitment and cooperation of citizens and residents in conserving electricity consumption enabled the ministry, thanks to God, to overcome the difficult phase that the power system experienced yesterday and today.

Hayat added in a press statement that the commitment and cooperation of citizens and residents in conserving electricity consumption also had a noticeable impact in reducing electricity consumption below expected levels, contributing to supporting the efforts of technical teams to maintain system stability and service continuity. She thanked citizens, residents, all government entities, state institutions, media outlets, and the private sector for their cooperation in disseminating awareness messages on conservation.

She clarified that this interaction and cooperation reflected a high level of societal awareness and an authentic spirit manifested in the swift response and solidarity in serving the country through various social media platforms.

Hayat called on everyone to continue fostering a spirit of shared responsibility and to entrench the culture of conservation as a national and civilized behavior that contributes to protecting resources and maintaining the stability of the electricity and water systems, thereby serving the public interest and ensuring the sustainability of services for all.
