The Secretary-General of the Arab League, Nabil Fahmy, warned on Saturday about the repercussions of Iran’s reckless and culpable attacks on several Arab countries, particularly in the Gulf region, emphasizing that these actions constitute an overt effort to expand the conflict and undermine security and stability in the area.
In a statement, Fahmy expressed full rejection of Iran’s unjustified aggression, noting that the escalating pace of Iran’s brazen attacks on Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, Jordan, and the Kurdistan Region of Iraq reflects an aggressive stance that cannot be ignored or tolerated.
He condemned the Iranian attacks on critical infrastructure and vital facilities in these countries, asserting that such attacks represent a blatant violation of Arab states’ sovereignty, international law, and principles of good neighborliness, and reflect Iranian policies based on miscalculations and a distorted reading of reality.
He stressed that any attack on any Arab country constitutes an attack on Arab national security and the collective interests of the Arab nation, calling on Iran to immediately halt these attacks, cease inciting tensions, spreading chaos, and threatening navigation security through its proxies in the region.
He reaffirmed the League’s full solidarity with Arab states and its support for them in confronting serious challenges that threaten their sovereignty, harm their interests, and endanger Arab national security, as well as its backing for all measures taken by Arab states to safeguard their security and stability.
