Occupied Knesset votes to dissolve itself ahead of elections - Sarmad

The Israeli Knesset in the occupied territories approved a law dissolving itself in preparation for the elections scheduled for October next year.

According to the Hebrew newspaper Yedioth Ahronot, “The Knesset approved, in its second and third readings, the political parties funding law, which mandates its dissolution and recess from parliamentary work starting July 17.”

The initiative received the support of 62 lawmakers, with no opposition or abstentions, and the elections are scheduled to take place on October 27 next year.

Israeli occupation Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had previously stated that he intends to participate in the upcoming parliamentary elections and secure a victory.
