«Electricity»: Damage to facilities at a power and desalination plant as a result of the reprehensible Iranian aggression - Sarmad

The Ministry of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy announced that, as a result of the unjust Iranian aggression against Kuwait, one of the country’s power and desalination plants was attacked, causing damage to its facilities, sparking a fire, and damaging a large number of electricity generation units. This necessitated the activation of emergency plans and immediate response to mitigate the incident’s impact and maintain the stability of the electrical grid.

In a statement on the X platform on Friday, the ministry said that the General Fireforce teams immediately responded to the incident, successfully controlling and extinguishing the fire. Meanwhile, the ministry’s technical and emergency teams, in coordination with relevant authorities, began implementing necessary technical and precautionary measures to assess the damage, secure the plant, and restore the affected units to service as quickly as possible, while adhering to the highest safety standards.

The ministry emphasized that technical teams are working around the clock to maintain the stability of the electrical grid and ensure continuous service, with ongoing monitoring of grid indicators and the implementation of all necessary measures to minimize any potential impact on the system.

The ministry appealed to citizens and residents to cooperate during this exceptional phase by conserving electricity, as this has a direct impact on supporting the stability of the national electrical grid, enabling technical teams to manage the system efficiently, and ensuring continuous service across the country.

It stressed that public awareness and cooperation under these circumstances are an integral part of the national efforts to address the repercussions of this attack, and that every contribution to conserving electricity enhances the electrical grid’s capacity to overcome this phase and supports repair and rehabilitation efforts for damaged facilities as swiftly as possible.

The ministry clarified that it will continue to keep the public informed of developments through its official channels, praying to God Almighty to protect Kuwait and perpetuate the blessings of security and safety upon it.
