U.S. Central Command announces the start of the second wave of military strikes against Iran - Sarmad

The U.S. military announced on Wednesday the launch of a second wave of strikes targeting Iran.

In a statement, U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) clarified that: “At 3:00 p.m. Eastern Time, U.S. forces initiated operations as part of the second wave of strikes today against Iran.”

The statement added: “The strikes target Iranian military capabilities used to threaten ships freely navigating through the Strait of Hormuz, a vital international waterway for global trade.”

The U.S. military affirmed that it is holding Iran accountable in accordance with directives from the Commander-in-Chief of the U.S. Armed Forces.

Earlier on Wednesday, the U.S. military announced that it had begun a new wave of airstrikes on Iran at 6:00 a.m. Eastern Time (10:00 a.m. Greenwich Mean Time).

U.S. Central Command stated on the platform X: “The strikes aim to continue degrading the military capabilities used by Iranian forces to attack commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz.”
