US Federal Reserve Chair: Trump did not ask me to do anything improper - Sarmad

(Relatives) – US Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh said on Wednesday that President Donald Trump had not asked him to do anything improper, and that even if Trump had asked, he would not have done it.

Warsh’s comments came in response to a series of questions from US senators about whether he had spoken with Trump, who appointed him, since taking office about two months ago.

Warsh declined to directly answer whether he had spoken with Trump, but said he did not see it as appropriate to disclose the content of his communications with administration officials.

The Federal Reserve chair affirmed that inflation would not persist.

He added: “Before I took office, Trump did not attempt to influence me on monetary policy.”

He continued: “If Trump attempts to influence monetary policy, I will remain silent and do my job.”
