Interior Ministry: Handling the incident of an assault on a security officer in Sabah Al-Salem and the death of the assailant - Sarmad

The Ministry of Interior announced on Monday that “the incident involving an assault on a security officer in the Ali Sabah Al-Salem area was handled in accordance with the law.”

It clarified that “while one of the patrols was carrying out its security duties in the Ali Sabah Al-Salem area, it stopped a person, who was found to be subject to an arrest warrant. During the process of implementing the necessary procedures to apprehend him, he resisted the security forces and assaulted one of them using a bladed weapon (a knife), resulting in the security officer being stabbed twice in the neck and thigh areas.”

It added that “as a result, security forces took the necessary measures to address the assault and neutralize the threat in accordance with the law, which necessitated firing at the assailant. He and the injured security officer were transported to the hospital; the assailant died from his injuries, while the security officer was taken to the operating room for necessary medical intervention and is currently receiving medical care.”
