Called for nuking Gaza... 'Israel' mourns its friend Lindsey Graham - Sarmad

The office of U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham, one of President Donald Trump’s most prominent allies in Congress, announced his death on Saturday evening following a “sudden health issue.” A statement announcing his passing was shared on social media, without the office providing further details about the Republican senator from South Carolina, who died at the age of 71.

U.S. President Donald Trump mourned Graham in a post on his platform, Truth Social, writing, “Senator Lindsey Graham, one of the greatest people and Senators I have ever known, has passed away. He always worked hard and was a true American patriot. We will miss Lindsey greatly. What sad news.”

Graham’s death sparked a wide wave of reactions, particularly in Israel, where he was known for his supportive stance and close ties with its leaders. Israeli officials mourned him, praising his role in defending Israel and his sustained support for the country.

On Sunday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he shared the Americans’ grief over the death of U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham, who was considered one of Israel’s strongest supporters in Washington.

Netanyahu added, “Lindsey was a great friend to Israel and a dear friend to me. Israel had no better friend than Lindsey.”

Former Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett, via his account on the X platform, said his “heart was broken” by the death of his friend Lindsey Graham, adding that the United States had “lost a loyal patriot,” while Israel had lost “one of its greatest friends.”

Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir stated that “Israel has lost one of its greatest friends today,” adding that Graham stood by Israel “not because it was easy, but because he believed in the rightness of his position.”

Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich considered that “Tel Aviv” had lost one of its largest allies in Washington, praising Graham’s vigorous efforts to strengthen the strategic alliance between the two countries.

Senator Lindsey Graham was among the most prominent American supporters of Israel and advocated providing it with everything needed “to win its war” against the Gaza Strip following the Al-Aqsa Flood operation. He proposed supplying Israel with nuclear weapons to end the war, similar to the U.S. bombing of the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1945, and criticized former U.S. President Joe Biden’s decision to halt the delivery of some arms shipments to the Israeli occupation army.
