Bahrain welcomes US President's announcement to remove Syria from the list of state sponsors of terrorism - Sarmad

On Friday, the Kingdom of Bahrain expressed its welcome for U.S. President Donald Trump’s announcement to begin procedures for removing Syria from the list of state sponsors of terrorism and to initiate congressional processes to complete the implementation of the decision.

In a statement, the Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs described the announcement as an important step toward supporting efforts to rebuild Syria and enhancing opportunities to attract foreign investments and aid, as well as to reintegrate the country into the global financial and economic systems.

The statement reaffirmed Bahrain’s high appreciation for the U.S. president’s efforts to support the Syrian Arab Republic, particularly through his initiatives to lift economic sanctions and his endeavors to consolidate peace, security, and sustainable development in the region.
