His Highness the Amir Receives the President of the UAE on the Occasion of His Fraternal Visit to the Country - Sarmad

His Highness the Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, received today His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, and the accompanying delegation, in the presence of His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Sabah and His Highness Sheikh Ahmad Al-Abdullah Al-Salim Al-Sabah, Prime Minister, on the occasion of his fraternal visit to the country.

During the meeting, pleasant exchanges took place reflecting the deep-rooted fraternal relations between the two countries and their peoples, and the means to support and develop these ties across various fields and all levels. Both sides emphasized the importance of expanding the horizons of bilateral cooperation between the two brotherly nations in a manner that serves their shared interests. They also discussed the latest developments on the regional and international scenes, foremost among them the evolving situation in the Middle East region, exchanging views on these matters. Their Highnesses affirmed both countries’ support for all initiatives, efforts, and endeavors aimed at establishing the foundations of peace, security, and stability in the region.

The meeting also addressed key issues of common Gulf interest, with an emphasis on strengthening unity and the progress of the Cooperation Council for Arab States of the Gulf, in order to realize the aspirations of their peoples for further development and prosperity.

Attendees included H.E. the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Fahad Youssef Al-Saud Al-Sabah; H.E. the Minister of Diwan Amiri Affairs, Sheikh Hamad Jaber Al-Ali Al-Sabah; the Chief of Staff of the Crown Prince’s Diwan, Sheikh Thamer Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah; H.E. the Minister of Defense, Sheikh Abdullah Ali Al-Salim Al-Sabah; H.E. the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Jaraah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah; the Director of the Office of His Highness the Amir of Kuwait, Retired Major General Jamal Al-Diyab; the Deputy Secretary of the Diwan Amiri, Sheikh Abdulaziz Meshal Mubarak Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah; and the Deputy Secretary for Foreign Affairs at the Diwan Amiri, Mazen Issa Al-Issa.

From the UAE side, attendees included His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Vice Chairman of the Council of Ministers, and Chairman of the Presidential Court; His Highness Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice Chairman of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Interior; His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice Chairman of the Presidential Court for Private Affairs; H.E. Sheikh Mohamed bin Hamad bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Advisor to His Highness the President; and a number of senior officials from the United Arab Emirates, along with the ambassadors of the two countries.
