Reactivation of the civil ID delivery service for Kuwaitis and residents

Translated by Qiyas from الراي — Original source

Sources familiar with the matter told Al-Rai that the move comes under the directives of the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Public Authority for Civil Information, Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef, to reactivate the service and expand options for citizens and residents to obtain their civil ID cards without needing to visit the Authority’s offices to collect them.

The Authority had suspended the civil ID card delivery service approximately four years ago due to the non-renewal of its contract with the specialized company. The reactivation of the service coincides with efforts to expedite the issuance and delivery of cards to their owners, as well as expanding the reliance on electronic systems in line with the broader push toward digital transformation and the development of the service framework.

The Authority officially announced the opening of pre-qualification for specialized companies operating in Kuwait to contract for providing the civil ID card delivery service to the public, under an open qualification system. It stipulated that the companies must be licensed and registered in Kuwait to conduct related activities, hold valid commercial registrations, and meet mandatory qualification requirements.
