Disability Affairs and Interior Ministry: Coordination Meeting to Facilitate Transactions

The Public Authority for Persons with Disabilities held a coordination meeting with the Ministry of Interior to explore ways of enhancing cooperation, facilitating the processing of cases for persons with disabilities, and improving the services provided to them, thereby streamlining procedures and saving time and effort.

In a press statement on Thursday, the Authority said the meeting addressed the conditions, regulations, and mechanisms for issuing traffic plates and parking spaces designated for persons with disabilities, as well as ways to facilitate their access to government services and complete their transactions, thereby enhancing the quality of services provided to them.

It clarified that the meeting discussed exempting persons with disabilities from government fees for public services, as well as exemptions from fees and taxes on vehicles equipped for their use, alongside developing and strengthening automated linkages between the two parties to streamline procedures and accelerate transaction processing.

The meeting was chaired by Dr. Khalifa Al-Hila, Deputy Director General of the Medical, Psychological, and Social Services Sector at the Authority, representing the Authority’s Director General. It was attended by several department directors and officials, while the Ministry of Interior was represented by Brigadier General Khaled Al-Adwani, Deputy Director General of Traffic for Education and Coordination at the General Directorate of Traffic, along with his accompanying team.
