The Director of the Meteorology Department, Essam Al-Ali, said on Wednesday that weather maps and numerical models indicate the country will be affected by an extension of a moist low-pressure system, leading to the proliferation of low and mid-level clouds interspersed with cumulus clouds, accompanied by scattered rainfall after midnight, which may be thunderstorm-prone at times.
He clarified that winds will be southeasterly to variable, light to moderate in speed, occasionally strengthening and stirring up dust, causing horizontal visibility to drop below 1,000 meters in some areas.
He added that sea waves will exceed six feet, noting that expected rainfall amounts will be light to moderate, with gradual weather improvement expected to begin on Thursday afternoon.
He urged asthma and allergy patients to wear masks when going out out of necessity, especially during thunderstorms and high humidity typical of this season, while also emphasizing the importance of following the weather bulletin via the Department’s official website, its app, and its social media accounts to stay updated on the latest weather developments.
