The General Directorate of Criminal Investigation announced the arrest of five Bangladeshi nationals involved in selling electronic cigarettes to school students through a grocery store operating inside a residence in the Saad Al-Abdullah area. The store relied on receiving and delivering orders from outside the house, as part of ongoing security efforts to protect minors and safeguard their health and safety.
In a statement on X, the Ministry said the arrest followed intelligence reports indicating that a grocery store near a school was selling electronic cigarettes to teenagers. Investigations and follow-up confirmed the accuracy of the reports and uncovered the mechanism for receiving, preparing, and delivering orders.
The first suspect was arrested outside the house while caught in the act of selling electronic cigarettes to school students. During a search of the premises, the remaining suspects were also apprehended, and authorities seized 13 large-sized and 23 small-sized boxes of electronic cigarettes, along with 219 small packets of tobacco and 1,722 Kuwaiti dinars from the proceeds of sales.
