The State Security Department at the Court of Appeal, presided over by Advisor Abdullah Al-Sanea and with the participation of Advisors Meshal Al-Mutawa and Saud Al-Mutairi, reviewed several rulings in cases related to appeals concerning the rights of His Highness the Amir and money laundering.

It sentenced a Kuwaiti national to three years in prison for publicly insulting the rights of His Highness the Amir, showing contempt for the institution of the Emirate, disparaging the rulers of Gulf states, and inciting sectarian strife by endorsing Iran’s nefarious aggression against the country.

Earlier, investigations by the State Security Agency had identified posts on his Instagram account containing images of Iran’s heinous attacks, including the targeting of a Kuwaiti oil facility, which caused public panic. Other images severely insulted the symbols of the state, its ruler, the rulers and symbols of Gulf states, and leaders of fraternal countries, along with expressions of gratitude and support for the bombing of US bases in Kuwait and the Gulf.

The same department annulled the three-year prison sentence of another citizen accused of insulting the Amir’s dignity, ruling instead that he be referred to psychiatric care after it was established that he was not responsible for his actions due to mental illness.

In another case, a defendant was referred to psychiatry for a mental capacity assessment, while the department decided to postpone rulings in other cases, including those involving money laundering, until next month.
