Israeli occupation forces withdrew today, Monday, from the neighborhoods they had occupied in the city of Hebron after an 11-day offensive, according to the Palestinian News Agency (WAFA).
The agency noted the beginning of residents’ return to their homes, emphasizing that the Palestinian Civil Defense had called on citizens to adhere to safety guidelines following the withdrawal of occupation forces from Hebron. It urged people not to touch suspicious objects or enter damaged buildings before they are inspected, and to clear the way for Civil Defense and explosive ordnance disposal teams, while closely monitoring children, the elderly, and persons with disabilities.
According to the agency, the ongoing offensive on Hebron has caused the displacement and harm of more than 3,300 citizens, particularly in the Al-Jalida and Ein Dirbhat areas, in addition to the destruction of 15 homes and facilities, damage to the economy and infrastructure, and disruption of the educational process.
The agency pointed out that the Hebron Municipality had announced yesterday that occupation forces had completely demolished 15 homes and facilities, closed 327 shops in the city, and caused daily direct economic losses from the offensive to exceed $3.8 million. The municipality estimated total infrastructure losses at more than $6.9 million, while losses in the health and environment sectors amounted to approximately $160,000.
