Under the directives of the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef, the General Customs Administration’s Air Cargo Customs Department, in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior’s General Directorate for Combating Narcotics, thwarted an attempt to smuggle 50 sheets saturated with a chemical narcotic, weighing approximately 323 grams in total. The drugs were professionally concealed inside a child’s car seat within a postal parcel arriving from Canada, and the suspect linked to the incident was apprehended.
The seizure followed suspicions raised by customs inspectors during the screening of incoming mail, which led to a thorough inspection of the shipment. A bag containing A4-sized sheets saturated with the narcotic was discovered inside the car seat’s drawer, in an attempt to conceal and bypass customs controls.
Subsequently, coordination was established between the Customs Investigation and Inquiry Office and the Ministry of Interior’s General Directorate for Combating Narcotics. This collaboration resulted in the arrest of the suspect and the preparation of an official report on the incident, paving the way for completing the necessary legal procedures.
