The Ambassador of the Republic of India to the State of Kuwait, Paramita Tripathi, confirmed that the Indian economy achieved growth of 7.8 percent during the first quarter of the 2026-2027 fiscal year, noting that this performance reflects the continued economic momentum in India despite the challenges facing the global economy, alongside the growth of exports and the country’s strengthened ties with global trade.
Speaking at a press conference held by the Indian Embassy in Kuwait as part of the “Indian-Kuwaiti Media Outreach” initiative, the ambassador stated that her country is making progress in government communications technologies and the development of local artificial intelligence chips, while continuing work on the Gaganyaan crewed spaceflight program and the development of next-generation launch vehicle technologies.
She pointed out that India is witnessing rapid developments in the fields of economy, science, technology, and space exploration, emphasizing that the progress achieved in these sectors opens new horizons for cooperation with international partners, foremost among them Kuwait.
Regarding the Indian community in Kuwait, Tripathi revealed that its size has increased by approximately 10,000 people since last December, reaching nearly 1.069 million, according to the figures presented during the meeting. She noted that this increase warrants attention given the current regional circumstances.

On the level of Kuwaiti-Indian economic relations, Tripathi disclosed that her recent talks with Kuwaiti Minister of Finance Dr. Yaqoub Al-Rafai covered investment opportunities and the economic challenges facing world countries amid regional and international developments.
