Kuwait Commercial Bank concluded its 2026 “Yazeen Turathna” (Our Heritage is Beautiful) campaign, in its 15th edition, at the Gulf University for Science and Technology (GUST), recalling the campaign’s key milestones aimed at highlighting authentic Kuwaiti heritage and strengthening the connection of new generations with the customs and traditions that form part of the national identity.
Amani Al-Wara’, Deputy General Manager for Corporate Communications, said: “This year’s campaign was held under the slogan ‘From the Kut to Kuwait,’ which embodies a journey through time to showcase the features of life in the past, with its authentic Kuwaiti heritage, including its unique components and elements such as customs, traditions, professions, markets, and folk games that formed an essential part of the lives of fathers and grandfathers.”
She added: “We are proud of the campaign, which reflects the bank’s commitment to highlighting Kuwaiti heritage and enhancing its presence among new generations. Through the campaign, Commercial Bank seeks to present heritage in an interactive manner that links the past with the present, highlighting how the journey of development contributed to building modern Kuwait without losing its connection to its authentic legacy.”
The final stop of the campaign capped off a series of diverse activities and events organized by the bank, including field visits to several schools, universities, and majlis (traditional gathering spaces), which provided students with the opportunity to learn about aspects of Kuwaiti folk heritage through an interactive approach that combines knowledge and entertainment.
As part of the campaign activities, the bank organized a checkers tournament, celebrating one of the folk games that represents an authentic aspect of Kuwaiti heritage, helping to evoke the social atmosphere of the past and introducing new generations to traditional inherited games.
The university event featured the “Commercial Bank Majlis,” which recreated the ambiance of traditional Kuwaiti majlis and allowed students to participate in several folk games, including checkers and Al-Kireem, in an experience aimed at bringing folk heritage closer to youth and highlighting its cultural and social value.
Al-Wara’ added that preserving national heritage is a responsibility that requires concerted efforts to pass down authentic customs and traditions to future generations and to reinforce pride in Kuwaiti identity, ensuring that this legacy remains present in the collective consciousness of society.
She thanked everyone who contributed to the success of the campaign, which received widespread approval and engagement from the public during field visits and activities, as well as online interaction and communication from followers of the bank’s social media accounts. This encourages us to continue our efforts to support and revive Kuwaiti heritage.
