The Ministry of Health announced that the urological surgery unit at Adan Hospital successfully performed a precise reconstructive surgery on the lower part of the right ureter, using the appendix via laparoscopic surgery, in an advanced technique with limited global application.
The ministry stated that the procedure was performed on a Kuwaiti woman in her twenties who suffered from a complex stricture in the lower part of the right ureter. This technique aims to reconstruct the site of the stricture, restore urine flow, and preserve kidney function. The patient was discharged from the hospital on the third day after the surgery in good health.
It was clarified that this achievement came with the support of Dr. Absam Al-Bader, Head of the Surgery Department, and Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Kandari, Head of the Urological Surgery Unit.
