Justice Ministry Announces Hiring for Entry-Level Legal Researcher Position to Serve as Deputy Prosecutor

The Ministry of Justice announced its need to fill the position of “Junior Legal Researcher,” open to both male and female Kuwaiti nationals qualified for the role of Deputy Public Prosecutor (Grade C), as part of efforts to attract and prepare national talents for service in the judicial corps.

In its announcement, the Ministry specified several conditions that applicants must meet, the most prominent being that the applicant must hold Kuwaiti nationality and possess a law degree from Kuwait University or an equivalent accredited qualification recognized by the Ministry of Higher Education, for graduates of the 2025/2026 academic year only. The applicant’s university grade point average must not be less than 2.67 out of 4.0, or equivalent to 80 percent according to the grading system used in other institutions.

The Ministry also stipulated that the applicant’s age must not exceed 26 years at the time of obtaining the university degree, and that the applicant must not have previously applied for the position, worked under a university degree with any government entity or private sector organization, or been registered with the Public Institution for Social Security.

Additional conditions included that the applicant must have a good reputation and character, must not have been previously convicted of a disciplinary or criminal penalty for an offense involving moral turpitude or breach of trust, or any crime affecting good conduct, and must meet the medical fitness requirements for the position.

The Ministry clarified that passing the written examination and personal interview conducted by the selection committee is a mandatory condition for acceptance. Successful candidates will be appointed to the civil public service cadre as “Junior Legal Researchers,” entitled to the prescribed financial benefits and allowances, and will undergo a training course at the Kuwait Institute for Judicial and Legal Studies, in accordance with relevant regulations and decisions, in preparation for assuming the role of Deputy Public Prosecutor (Grade C) upon successful completion of the training.

It further clarified that applications will be accepted starting from Sunday, November 1, 2026, at 12:00 noon, until Monday, November 30, 2026, at 12:00 noon, noting that no applications will be accepted after the specified deadline.
