Dust may be a familiar sight, but lightning, its flashes, and the rain that follows remain mere wishes.
Deputy Director of the Meteorology Department, Derrar Al-Ali, said that “the country was affected early today by thunderstorms accompanied by active winds,” noting that “dust carried by downdrafts from cumulonimbus clouds that formed near the northern border yesterday morning caused reduced visibility.”
He reported that yesterday’s daytime weather was warm and humid, especially in coastal areas, with skies ranging from cloudy to partly cloudy. Winds were variable to southeasterly, light to moderate in speed, with a chance of scattered showers, occasionally thunderstorms, and a possibility of fog forming in the evening. The expected maximum temperatures were between 32 and 34 degrees Celsius, while minimums were expected to range from 24 to 26 degrees Celsius.
Regarding Saturday’s daytime weather, he clarified that it would be warm and humid, with maximum temperatures expected to be between 32 and 34 degrees Celsius, and minimums between 23 and 25 degrees Celsius.
