Bahrain's Al-Najma Replaces Al-Shabab in Gulf Handball Championship

Bahraini club Al-Najma will replace its compatriots Al-Shabab in the 42nd Gulf Cup for Handball Club Champions, scheduled to be held in Bahrain from November 21 to 30 next year, with eight clubs participating.

The change came after Al-Shabab’s inability to participate. Its president, Mirza Ahmed, stated on Thursday that the decision to withdraw from the Gulf tournament was based on a technical report submitted by the Bahrain Handball Federation to the country’s General Sports Authority, which consistently strives to ensure that the Kingdom of Bahrain is represented in the best possible manner at international events.

As a result, Al-Najma will replace Al-Shabab in Group A of the tournament, which also includes Qatari club Al-Arabi, Saudi club Al-Muhit, and Bahraini club Al-Sharjah. Meanwhile, Kuwait Club will compete in Group B alongside Bahraini hosts Al-Ahli, Qatari club Al-Rayyan, and Omani club Oman.
