The Kuwaiti-UAE Joint Consular Committee, in its fourth session hosted by Kuwait on Wednesday, discussed ways to enhance consular cooperation and develop joint coordination mechanisms, aiming to facilitate procedures and services provided to the citizens of the two brotherly countries.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, represented by its Consular Affairs Department, hosted the committee’s sessions with the participation of five specialized government entities from both sides. The meetings addressed several topics within the purview of relevant ministries and institutions in both countries, particularly the ministries of Interior, Health, Justice, and Higher Education.
Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Consular Affairs, Ambassador Aziz Al-Daihani, told KUNA news agency that the fourth session’s meetings were characterized by a positive atmosphere, reflecting the strength and depth of the fraternal relations between the State of Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates.
Al-Daihani added that Kuwaiti-UAE relations enjoy high-level patronage from the leaderships of both countries, rooted in enduring historical ties and a shared destiny within the framework of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).
He emphasized that the significance of convening the Joint Consular Committee lies in providing a direct framework for coordination between the relevant authorities in both countries to examine consular issues, discuss matters of mutual interest, and develop shared visions aimed at enhancing the level of services provided to citizens and improving work and cooperation mechanisms between the two sides.
