In a move that reinforces its efforts to support the esports sector and develop young talent, Boubyan Bank announced a strategic partnership with the Kuwaiti Esports Club, aiming to enhance cooperation in developing this promising sector and providing a competitive and professional environment that enables Kuwaiti youth to hone their skills and expand their opportunities to participate in local and international tournaments.

Coinciding with the partnership announcement, Boubyan launched the second edition of the “Boubyan E-League,” which this year features a broader scope of competitions, larger cash prizes, and official endorsement by the Kuwait Olympic Committee, allowing winners to qualify for finals to represent the Kuwaiti national team in international tournaments and events.

The partnership was signed in the presence of Qutaiba Al-Bassam, Assistant General Manager of Communications and Corporate Relations at Boubyan, and Abdullah Al-Ali, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Kuwaiti Esports Club, along with several bank executives and club representatives.

Commenting on the partnership and the tournament launch, Al-Bassam stated that esports has become one of the promising sports sectors attracting global youth interest, opening new opportunities for them to develop their skills and showcase their abilities. He emphasized that Boubyan views this field as an important space for supporting and encouraging national talent to excel.

He added, “Our strategic partnership with the Kuwaiti Esports Club is an extension of our vision to support this sector and strengthen collaboration with specialized national entities to provide a competitive and professional environment that allows youth to pursue their passion, develop their capabilities, and open broader horizons for participation and excellence at both local and international levels.”

He clarified that the launch of the second edition of the “Boubyan E-League” represents an important step in the league’s development journey, noting that the expansion of game titles and increased prize values reflect the bank’s commitment to elevating the level of competition and attracting a wider range of players.

Al-Bassam pointed out that the tournament’s endorsement by the Kuwait Olympic Committee enhances its status among official sports competitions and gives it a professional dimension that allows winners to qualify directly to represent the Kuwaiti national team in international tournaments and events, thereby paving a broader path for national talent to excel on the international stage.

He continued, “We aspire for the ‘Boubyan E-League’ to serve as a platform that contributes to discovering and refining Kuwaiti talent, providing players with real opportunities to advance to higher levels of professionalism, ultimately representing Kuwait on the international stage, thereby strengthening the presence of national competencies in this growing sports field.”

Al-Bassam explained that the second edition of the “Boubyan E-League” sees a notable expansion in the scope of competitions, with the number of electronic games increasing from four to seven, offering broader participation opportunities and attracting more talent, alongside cash prizes totaling up to 11,000 Kuwaiti dinars.

For his part, Al-Ali emphasized that the strategic partnership with Boubyan reflects the importance of integrating efforts between the private sector and sports institutions in developing Kuwait’s esports ecosystem. He noted that this collaboration contributes to providing a more professional competitive environment that supports the discovery and development of national talent, amid the rapid growth the sector is experiencing regionally and globally.

He added, “We are proud of our partnership with Boubyan and its ongoing role in supporting Kuwaiti youth. Through the second edition of the Boubyan E-League, we aim to elevate the level of competition and expand participation opportunities for players, thereby helping to hone their skills and enhance their readiness to compete at regional and international levels.”

The second edition of the Boubyan E-League features seven esports titles: EA FC 27, Gran Turismo, Rocket League, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, Fortnite, Tekken 8, and Fantasy Premier League.

Competitions will kick off on November 1, paving the way for the finals scheduled for December at the Martyr’s Park, where the winners will be crowned.

The Boubyan E-League falls under the Boubyan E-Gaming platform, which consolidates the bank’s initiatives and activities in the fields of gaming and esports, reflecting its continued commitment to developing experiences and initiatives that align with the interests and aspirations of young people.

Through this platform, Boubyan supports the esports community and expands participation opportunities in its tournaments, in collaboration with specialized entities, thereby reinforcing the sustainability of its initiatives and its contribution to the development of this promising sector in Kuwait.
