The State Security and Terrorism Crimes Criminal Court, presided over by Advisor Nasser Al-Badr and with advisors Omar Al-Mulifi, Abdullah Al-Falah, and Salem Al-Zaid on the bench, sentenced a Twitter user to five years’ imprisonment with hard labor on charges of insulting the institution of the Emir, following his arrest by State Security personnel.
The Public Prosecution accused the defendant of publicly challenging, in a public place and through written posts, the rights and authority of His Highness the Emir, criticizing his person, and insulting the institution of the Emir by posting and disseminating the statements detailed in the case documents via his account on the “X” platform. However, the defendant denied the charges brought against him.
