Dr. Amthal Al-Huwail, Minister of Social Affairs, Family, and Childhood Affairs, affirmed that compliance with the ministry’s decisions and circulars is not optional but a mandatory obligation for all boards of directors of cooperative societies. She stressed that there would be no leniency toward violators, noting that any board found non-compliant with ministerial circulars and decisions, as well as applicable regulations, would face stringent measures, including dissolution of the board in accordance with the law.
Al-Huwail emphasized the necessity of adhering to decisions on the Kuwaitization of jobs and the placement of national personnel, complying with the regulations and labor systems approved by the Public Authority for Manpower, and paying attention to hygiene standards within cooperative societies and central markets. She also highlighted the importance of ensuring the quality, type, and safety of goods to safeguard consumers’ rights.
She added that the ministry would continue its supervisory and field monitoring efforts to ensure the implementation of decisions, stressing that the phase of issuing warnings without enforcement has ended. Accountability will now be enforced on the ground, without exception or leniency.
