The Director of the Meteorology Department, Deputy Director Derrar Al-Ali, stated that the country has experienced scattered light rainfall since this morning, which is expected to continue in the coming days. The chances of rain will increase next Thursday, with occasional thunderstorms and reduced horizontal visibility due to fog.
Al-Ali added that weather maps and numerical models indicate that the country will be affected by an extension of a surface low-pressure system, coinciding with an upper-level low-pressure system. This will lead to the proliferation of low and mid-level clouds, accompanied by scattered light rainfall that may occasionally be thunderous.
He clarified that winds will be variable in direction, shifting to light to moderate southeasterly winds that will occasionally strengthen in some areas. He noted that the chances of light rain will continue with varying intensity over the coming days.
He mentioned that humidity will rise and persist throughout the week, with fog forming at night, particularly in coastal and agricultural areas, leading to reduced horizontal visibility. The chances of scattered rain will increase next Thursday, with occasional thunderstorms and accompanying wind activity.
