Diaz absent from Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich, the German football league champions, announced that Colombian winger Luis Díaz suffered a mild muscle tear in the back of his left thigh during the 2-2 draw against English visitors Arsenal in the UEFA Champions League.

The club’s official statement confirmed that Díaz, 29, will be sidelined until further notice as he undergoes a therapeutic and rehabilitation program before returning to team training.

Díaz’s absence comes at a highly critical time, as Bayern Munich prepares to face Freiburg, Magdeburg, Borussia Dortmund, Spanish side Atlético Madrid in the Champions League, Mainz, and Cologne.

Díaz did not start the match against Arsenal due to muscle issues, coming on as a substitute in the 68th minute before being substituted at the end of regular time.

The match also saw South Korean defender Kim Min-jae suffer an injury. He started the game despite not being fully fit, playing only in the first half.
