The Yemeni News Agency (Saba) reported on Thursday that the remarks came during a meeting between Minister Al-Zoba and Fahad Al-Mutairi, the Kuwaiti Ambassador to Yemen, to discuss the latest developments in Yemen and the region, as well as ways to strengthen bilateral relations and coordination between the two countries.
The agency quoted Al-Zoba emphasizing the importance of enhancing coordination between the two countries to deliver aid and expand cooperation in the fields of capacity building and institutional qualification.
She pointed to the recent escalation by the Houthi militias, which poses a threat to the security of Yemen and the region, as well as to the safety of international navigation in the Red Sea and the Bab al-Mandab strait, stressing the importance of unifying regional and international efforts to confront these threats and support the Yemeni government’s efforts to restore state institutions and achieve stability.
She also highlighted the violations committed by the Houthi militias against civilians, including the recruitment and exploitation of children, attempts to alter educational curricula, and the erasure of national identity, noting that these practices pose risks to Yemeni generations and the country’s future.
For his part, Ambassador Al-Mutairi reaffirmed Kuwait’s continued support for Yemen and the importance of coordination between the two countries to address current challenges, reiterating his country’s commitment to continuing its support for the Yemeni people and strengthening the fraternal relations between the two nations.
