The final of the television program “With Students,” held on Wednesday, saw teams from Kuwaiti schools compete for the cup of His Highness the Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, marking the conclusion of the second season of the program, which is held under his patronage.
The program’s final was attended by Minister of Education Jalal Al-Tabtaba’i and Minister of State for Communications and Information Technology Affairs, acting Minister of Media and Culture, Omar Al-Omar, following a series of competitions spanning 13 episodes, with participation from Grade 12 students in secondary schools.
In this regard, Al-Tabtaba’i told the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) after the final that reaching the final stage is an achievement in itself, given that the students had overcome previous stages. He emphasized that their performance in the final episode was commendable and reflected their capabilities and excellence. He added that the program’s success was the result of efforts and cooperation between the Ministries of Education and Media, along with support from “V” company, praising the revival of this prestigious program with a renewed spirit that aligns with the current generation while preserving its place in the memory of Kuwaiti society.
The minister congratulated the students who participated in all stages of the program, expressing his gratitude to teachers and school administrations that supervised the teams and contributed to students reaching advanced levels of competition.
For his part, Minister Al-Omar, in a similar statement to KUNA, praised the revival of the program, describing the concept as excellent. He stressed the importance of attending to and supporting students, and encouraging them in such educational programs. He said that the students’ reaching this stage of competition reflected their excellence and capabilities, and he expressed his wishes for their success, commending what the second season of the program witnessed.
The competitions featured an enthusiastic atmosphere hosted by media personality Abdullah Malallah, and included diverse questions in various fields. The grand prize amounted to 4,000 Kuwaiti dinars for each student in the winning team, and 1,000 dinars for each student in the second-place team.
The program is supervised by the Ministries of Education and Media, implemented by the non-profit “V” platform affiliated with Sheikhah Ahood Salem Al-Ali Al-Sabah, and strategically sponsored by the Sheikh Salem Al-Ali Al-Sabah Award for Informatics, with support from several sponsors: Kuwait Finance House, American University of the Middle East, Kuwait Petroleum Corporation, Colgate, and JVC.
“With Students” is one of the programs firmly embedded in the memory of Kuwaiti viewers, since its launch in 1975 with media personality Khaled Al-Harban. It has returned with a renewed spirit and a vision aimed at supporting students and highlighting their talents and capabilities. The program is broadcast on the Kuwait TV channel and the “51” platform.
